93. Cloudkicker “Let Yourself Be Huge” Let Yourself Be Huge [Self-Released]

Moment @ 2:29

His mom called it a growth spurt, but spurts usually peter out. They plateau. This just kept going. In the eighth grade, not too long after he got eliminated from the school spelling bee on the word “quantitative,” he shot up to six feet. It was a good confidence booster following the embarrassing loss (he had stupidly got buzzed after speaking “Q-U-A-L-” into the microphone), but it also surprised him because not even Brock Swiftman had even hit the six-foot mark yet, and he could almost dunk on the hoop in the gym. Then it downright scared him when he woke up one morning a week later and was another inch taller. And then when school let out, he found he was 6’ 5”. Here he was, entering high school that fall, the branches on the trees in his front yard losing leaves only to fall on his head a couple centimeters below, with a height of nearly seven feet. Eventually, though, as he got further away from the ground, the roller coaster of boldness and reservations stopped. It was just him. He was big and getting bigger everyday and there was no end in sight.
